Home Brewing Kombucha

Home Brewing Kombucha

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to easily and inexpensively home-brew delicious probiotic-rich kombucha. What is kombucha? Kombucha is a sweetened tea fermented into a lightly effervescent beverage using a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY). No special equipment, or fussy procedures are required. Flavor combinations are nearly endless, and we will explore several possibilities in class.

Each student will be given a SCOBY and will make 1 quart of Three Pines Farm’s favorite kombucha - a lightly floral-sweet original. We will also run through how to make a farm fresh lemon verbena kombucha (another favorite here!), plus how to flavor kombucha (blueberry and mango will be covered in class, but other flavor combinations will be discussed). We will end our workshop by gathering ‘round the table for a kombucha flight and some good conversation.
