Glamping FAQs

How many guests can the tent accommodate?

1-4 guests.

What are the check in/check out times?

Check in: 3pm or after. Check out: 11am or before. Please let us know your arrival to get you settled in at camp.

What do I need to bring?

- We ask that you bring any toiletries, sunscreen, and insect repellent that you may need during your stay.

- Bring any food and coolers you will need. You may bring wine or beer for those of age to enjoy, but hard alcohol is not allowed.

- One umbrella is in the tent, but bring more if you think you will need more.

- Drinking water is not provided at camp, so please plan for that (you can get water at the farm if you like).

Is the tent air conditioned?

No, the tent is not air conditioned.  The tent has two large “doors” and “windows” lined with zippered mosquito netting for a breeze.  The nights are often very cool (prepare for that!) as the tent is situated in a low valley of the prairie, near a little stream, where cool air tends to settle in nicely after sunset, but during the daytime, it can get quite hot in the tent. Please go in with that expectation.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not allowed. Thank you for understanding.

Is hunting allowed on the prairie?

No, hunting and weapons are not allowed at Three Pines Farm. Thank you for understanding.

What about the weather?

You will be camping without air conditioning and heat. Please be prepared & comfortable with that. If there is severe weather that impacts your reservation, you are welcome to reschedule, or be issued a full refund. If storms pop up and quick shelter is needed, guests can come up to our barn studio.

Is this experience right for me? Important Considerations:

*Please note the tent is a non-smoking space. No hard alcohol is allowed at Three Pines Farm, but wine and/or beer are allowed.

*Please note that you are immersed in nature at camp. All manner of insect, mammal, rodent, bird, and plant are present on the prairie. You may have close encounters with all of the aforementioned - please be comfortable with that or reconsider your stay. Bugs will likely make their way into the tent, so if that thought bothers you, please reconsider your stay. Please note there may be harmful plants on the prairie (wild parsnip is present, and it is possible other harmful plants too). Ticks are present on the prairie - please keep perform frequent tick checks and prepare for that. Food & trash must be cleaned up to prevent issues with wildlife. The terrain is uneven on the prairie - if you hike, please watch your step.

*Please note that there may be events taking place on the farmstead during your stay. You are removed from that out on the prairie, but the increased activity may be noticeable (although likely not bothersome). There is a car raceway 5 miles from the farm and when events happen there, the noise of the cars will carry (these wide open spaces!) out to the prairie. Please check their schedule if you would like to avoid that possibility entirely.
