That’s a Winter Picnic at Three Pines Farm.

What is included in a winter picnic?

A decadent cheese plate graze, which will be all prepared & ready for you upon arrival, in front of a cozy fire, in a warm, beautiful tent (you will be renting the tent and tent/dining set up is included).  As an extra special magic touch, guests can also enjoy a wishing ceremony at the conclusion of the picnic with a lighting of flying wishing paper. Hibernation Retreat & Winter Picnic FAQs:

Where is the tent located/is there a restroom/how accessible is it?

In the winter, the tent is located on the farmstead, near the barn studio.  It is a very, very brief walk to our barn studio to the restroom.  The tent is quite easy to access, but tent doors are smaller & different than a house door (it’s a tent, after all!), requiring a step in and a stoop down.

How do I dress?

Please dress in warm, practical clothes, ideally in layers as it can get very toasty in the tent too.  There are blankets in the tent for extra coziness, and sock slippers for guests (both carefully laundered between guests, of course).

Is there an age requirement for stays?

Yes, hibernation days, winter picnics, and retreats are open to those 21 years & up.

What days and time of day can be booked?

Any day can be booked if the date is open.

What happens in the event of bad weather?

If snow, rain, cold, or wind prove problematic, the retreat may have to be canceled, and if so, a full refund would be issued (if payment has occurred). Sometimes last minute calls have to be made on the weather, so it is best to keep an eye on your email or phone for announcements before heading to the farm. Also, if Three Pines Farm has to cancel for any other reason, a full refund of any payment made would be issued.

Any questions not covered here?  Please contact kara@threepinesfarm.org.

Reservations must be made at least 72 hours in advance.

*Hibernation retreat season extended to March 23rd.  The 2025 winter tent experiences will open for reservations in early January (weather permitting). Book a summertime glamping stay right HERE - the 2024 season is now open!
